Description

Crispy, golden-brown air fryer fried pickles with a tangy sour cream and onion dip. This healthier alternative to deep-fried pickles delivers all the crunch without the grease, making it a perfect snack or party appetizer.


Ingredients

1216 pre-sliced dill pickles or whole pickles cut into spears or coins

2 eggs

1/2 cup all-purpose flour

1 tsp Tabasco sauce (or preferred hot sauce)

Salt and pepper to taste

1 cup panko breadcrumbs (or regular breadcrumbs)

Oil spray for air fryer

1/2 cup sour cream

1/4 cup mayonnaise

2 tbsp finely chopped onion

1 garlic clove, minced

1/2 tsp dried dill

Salt and pepper to taste


Instructions

  1. Dry the pickles thoroughly with paper towels.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together eggs, flour, Tabasco sauce, salt, and pepper to make the spiced egg wash.
  3. Dip each pickle slice into the egg wash, shaking off excess.
  4. Coat pickles in panko breadcrumbs, pressing gently, and place on a baking sheet.
  5. Preheat air fryer to 200°C (400°F).
  6. Arrange pickles in a single layer in the air fryer basket and spray both sides lightly with oil.
  7. Air-fry for 5–7 minutes per side until golden and crisp.
  8. Meanwhile, in a bowl, whisk together sour cream, mayonnaise, onion, garlic, dill, salt, and pepper until smooth.
  9. Serve the hot pickles with the sour cream and onion dip.
