Description
Crispy, golden-brown air fryer fried pickles with a tangy sour cream and onion dip. This healthier alternative to deep-fried pickles delivers all the crunch without the grease, making it a perfect snack or party appetizer.
Ingredients
12–16 pre-sliced dill pickles or whole pickles cut into spears or coins
2 eggs
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
1 tsp Tabasco sauce (or preferred hot sauce)
Salt and pepper to taste
1 cup panko breadcrumbs (or regular breadcrumbs)
Oil spray for air fryer
1/2 cup sour cream
1/4 cup mayonnaise
2 tbsp finely chopped onion
1 garlic clove, minced
1/2 tsp dried dill
Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Dry the pickles thoroughly with paper towels.
- In a bowl, whisk together eggs, flour, Tabasco sauce, salt, and pepper to make the spiced egg wash.
- Dip each pickle slice into the egg wash, shaking off excess.
- Coat pickles in panko breadcrumbs, pressing gently, and place on a baking sheet.
- Preheat air fryer to 200°C (400°F).
- Arrange pickles in a single layer in the air fryer basket and spray both sides lightly with oil.
- Air-fry for 5–7 minutes per side until golden and crisp.
- Meanwhile, in a bowl, whisk together sour cream, mayonnaise, onion, garlic, dill, salt, and pepper until smooth.
- Serve the hot pickles with the sour cream and onion dip.

- Use gluten-free flour and breadcrumbs for a gluten-free version.
- Store leftovers in the fridge for up to 2 days and reheat in air fryer for crispiness.
