Description
Gooey, melty mozzarella encased in a crispy golden coating, made lighter in the air fryer for the perfect snack or party appetizer.
Ingredients
12 mini mozzarella balls (bocconcini), drained and patted dry
1/4 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 tsp black pepper
1 large egg, beaten
1 cup panko breadcrumbs
1/2 tsp dried Italian seasoning
Cooking spray
Instructions
Preheat air fryer to 390°F (200°C).
In a shallow bowl, mix flour, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
Place beaten egg in a second bowl.
In a third bowl, combine panko breadcrumbs and Italian seasoning.
Dredge mozzarella balls in the flour mixture, dip in egg, and roll in breadcrumbs, pressing gently to adhere.
For extra crispiness, repeat the egg and breadcrumb coating one more time.
Arrange coated mozzarella balls in the air fryer basket in a single layer.
Lightly spray with cooking spray.
Air fry for 5–6 minutes, or until golden brown and cheese is just starting to melt.
Serve immediately with marinara sauce for dipping.
