Description
A quick and easy cannoli dip with mascarpone, ricotta, and mini chocolate chips that delivers the flavors of a classic cannoli in a creamy dip form.
Ingredients
1 cup mascarpone cheese (room temperature)
1 cup ricotta cheese (drained)
1 cup powdered sugar (confectioners’ sugar)
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
½ cup mini chocolate chips
Instructions
- Drain the ricotta cheese through cheesecloth or a fine mesh strainer to remove excess water.
- In a mixing bowl, beat together the mascarpone and ricotta cheeses using an electric mixer until smooth and well combined.
- Add in the powdered sugar and vanilla extract. Continue mixing until everything is fully incorporated.
- Gently stir in the mini chocolate chips by hand to maintain their texture.
- Chill the dip in the fridge for at least 10 minutes before serving. You can refrigerate it for up to 48 hours for convenience.
- Serve the cannoli dip with your choice of dippers such as pizzelle cookies, broken waffle cones, or fresh fruit.
Notes
- If you can’t find pizzelle cookies, graham crackers, wafer cookies, or broken waffle cones make great alternatives.
- For extra flavor, try adding a dash of cinnamon or citrus zest.
- Ensure ricotta is well-drained to prevent the dip from becoming too watery.
