Description

A crispy-on-the-outside, cake-like waffle packed with 40 g of protein, only 206 calories, and just 9 g of carbs—made with protein powder, egg whites, a touch of flour, and almond extract for flavor.


Ingredients

½ cup (approx. 8 Tbsp) egg whites

1 scoop vanilla protein powder* (or ~6 Tbsp)

1 Tbsp flour (optional for a cakier texture)

½ tsp almond extract (or vanilla extract) 


Instructions

Whisk together all ingredients until combined.

Preheat and lightly spray your waffle iron. Pour in a modest amount of batter—don’t overfill, so the waffle can expand without spilling.

Cook according to your waffle iron’s instructions until the exterior is crisp.
