Description

This rich and flavorful Boil Sauce recipe combines buttery goodness with bold Cajun spices, garlic, and fresh herbs, creating the perfect complement for seafood boils or as a delicious dipping sauce.

Ingredients

Boil Sauce Ingredients

  • 2 cups Salted Butter
  • 1 Onion, diced
  • 8 cloves Garlic, diced
  • 1/4 cup Cajun Seasoning
  • 2 tablespoons Old Bay
  • 1 tablespoon Onion Powder
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons Brown Sugar
  • 1 tablespoon Red Pepper Flakes
  • 1 cup Chicken Stock
  • 2 tablespoons Lemon Juice
  • 2 tablespoons Fresh Parsley, chopped

Instructions

  1. Melt Butter and Cook Onions: Melt butter in a large skillet over medium heat until fully melted. Add diced onions and cook for about 5 minutes until softened.
  2. Add Garlic: Stir in diced garlic and continue cooking in the butter for 3 minutes to release its aroma.
  3. Add Seasonings: Mix in the Cajun seasoning, Old Bay, onion powder, brown sugar, and red pepper flakes. Stir well and cook the mixture for 5 minutes to allow flavors to meld.
  4. Add Chicken Stock and Boil: Pour in the chicken stock, stir the sauce, and bring it to a boil. Then reduce heat and let it simmer gently for 6-8 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.
  5. Finish with Lemon and Parsley: Remove from heat, squeeze in fresh lemon juice, and stir in chopped parsley. Serve immediately poured over cooked seafood or as a dipping sauce.

Notes

  • For a spicier sauce, increase the amount of red pepper flakes to taste.
  • If you prefer a dairy-free version, substitute salted butter with a vegan butter alternative.
  • Use fresh lemon juice for the best vibrant flavor.
  • Can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days and reheated gently on the stove.
  • Perfect for shrimp, crab, crawfish, or other seafood boils.
