Description
Brazilian Lemonade (Limonada Suíça) is a creamy, tangy tropical drink made with fresh limes, sugar, cold water, and sweetened condensed milk. This refreshing beverage is perfect for hot days and offers a unique, dessert-like twist with its smooth texture and bold lime flavor.
Ingredients
4–5 whole limes (4 large or 5 smaller ones)
1 cup granulated sugar (or chilled sugar water)
6 cups cold water
6 tablespoons sweetened condensed milk
Ice, for serving
Instructions
- Wash the limes thoroughly and cut off the ends. Slice each lime into eighths.
- Mix the sugar and water until dissolved, then chill it in the fridge.
- Add half of the limes and half of the sugar water to a blender. Pulse 4–5 times quickly—just enough to release the juice and oils from the limes without over-blending.
- Strain the mixture into a pitcher using a fine mesh strainer, pressing the pulp to extract as much liquid as possible. Discard the solids.
- Repeat the process with the remaining limes and sugar water.
- Stir in the sweetened condensed milk, or blend again briefly to create a frothy texture.
- Serve over ice and enjoy immediately. Optionally, garnish with lime slices.
Notes
- For a frosty version, blend the strained juice with ice and condensed milk for a slushy texture.
- For an alcoholic twist, add a shot of cachaça or rum.
- For a sugar-free option, use stevia or skip the sugar if using extra condensed milk.
- For a fizzy version, substitute sparkling water for still water.
- Substitute limes with lemons for a different citrus flavor.
