Description

This Caesar Flatbread recipe combines tender pan-seared chicken, crisp romaine lettuce, and creamy Caesar dressing on crispy baked flatbread. Perfect for a quick and satisfying meal, it features a savory garlic-soy drizzle and freshly grated Parmesan for extra flavor and texture.

Ingredients

Protein

  • 3 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (about 1.5 lbs)

Vegetables & Greens

  • 4 cups romaine lettuce, chopped
  • 2 cloves fresh garlic, minced

Dairy & Condiments

  • ½ cup Caesar dressing (store-bought or homemade)
  • ½ cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese

Base

  • 4 pieces flatbread (store-bought or homemade)

Sauces & Seasonings

  • 2 tbsp low-sodium soy sauce
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Olive oil, for cooking
  • Nonstick cooking spray

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and spray a baking sheet with nonstick cooking spray to prevent sticking during baking.
  2. Cook chicken: Season the chicken breasts generously with salt and pepper. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Cook each breast for about 6-7 minutes per side until golden brown and fully cooked through (internal temperature of 165°F/74°C). Remove from heat and let the chicken rest for a few minutes before slicing thinly.
  3. Prepare garlic-soy drizzle: In a small bowl, combine the minced garlic with the low-sodium soy sauce to create a flavorful drizzle that will add a savory, umami touch to the flatbreads.
  4. Assemble flatbreads: Lay out each piece of flatbread on the prepared baking sheet. Spread a generous layer of Caesar dressing over each one. Top with sliced chicken breast, then evenly distribute the chopped romaine lettuce. Sprinkle freshly grated Parmesan cheese over the top. Finally, drizzle the garlic-soy mixture evenly across each flatbread.
  5. Bake flatbreads: Place the assembled flatbreads in the preheated oven and bake for 8-10 minutes until heated through and the edges turn crispy and lightly golden.
  6. Serve: Remove from the oven and serve immediately. Optionally, offer extra Caesar dressing on the side for dipping or drizzling.

Notes

  • Use store-bought or homemade flatbread depending on preference and time constraints.
  • For juicier chicken, marinate the breasts briefly in olive oil and a squeeze of lemon before cooking.
  • The garlic-soy drizzle adds a unique depth but can be omitted if preferred.
  • Make sure not to overcook chicken to maintain tenderness.
  • Use freshly grated Parmesan cheese for best flavor and melting quality.
  • Can be served as a casual lunch, dinner, or even a party appetizer cut into smaller slices.
