Description

These crispy and flavorful Cauliflower Tots are a healthy, low-carb alternative to traditional tater tots. Made with tender cauliflower rice and creamy cottage cheese, seasoned with black pepper and onion powder, then air fried to golden perfection, they make a perfect snack or side dish.

Ingredients

Cauliflower Tots Ingredients

  • 1 cup frozen cauliflower rice
  • 1/4 cup Daisy Cottage Cheese
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon onion powder

Instructions

  1. Cook Cauliflower Rice: Add the frozen cauliflower rice to a saucepot and cook over medium-low heat for 6-8 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the cauliflower is tender and lightly browned.
  2. Process Cottage Cheese: In a food processor, blend the Daisy Cottage Cheese until completely smooth to create a creamy base for the tots.
  3. Mix Ingredients: In a bowl, combine the cooked cauliflower, smooth cottage cheese, black pepper, and onion powder. Stir well to ensure all ingredients are evenly incorporated.
  4. Form Tots: Using 1 tablespoon of the mixture at a time, shape the mixture into small tot shapes by hand. Repeat until all mixture is used.
  5. Preheat Air Fryer and Cook: Preheat your air fryer to 350°F (175°C). Arrange the formed tots on the air fryer rack in a single layer. Air fry for 10-12 minutes or until they turn golden brown and crispy on the outside.
  6. Serve: Remove the tots from the air fryer and serve immediately with your favorite dipping sauce.

Notes

  • Ensure the cauliflower is drained well if using thawed frozen rice to prevent soggy tots.
  • For extra flavor, add your favorite herbs or a pinch of garlic powder to the mixture.
  • If you don’t have an air fryer, you can bake the tots in a preheated oven at 400°F (200°C) for about 15-20 minutes, turning halfway through.
  • Use a non-stick cooking spray or brush the air fryer rack lightly to prevent sticking.
  • These tots are best enjoyed fresh but can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days and reheated in the air fryer.
