Ingredients
Waffle Batter
- 1 cup full fat cottage cheese (225g)
- 2 eggs
- 1 cup rolled oats (100g)
- 2 tablespoons butter, melted and cooled
- 1 tablespoon maple syrup
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
Instructions
- Combine Ingredients: Add all the batter ingredients into a blender in the order listed: cottage cheese, eggs, rolled oats, melted butter, maple syrup, vanilla extract, and baking powder. Blend until the mixture is smooth and well combined, stopping to scrape down the sides as needed to ensure an even consistency.
- Preheat and Grease Waffle Maker: Lightly grease your waffle maker with butter or a non-stick spray if required by your machine to prevent sticking. Preheat it according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
- Cook the Waffles: Pour about 1/2 cup of the blended batter onto the waffle maker. Close the lid and cook for about 3 to 5 minutes, or until the waffles are golden brown and crisp on the outside.
- Serve Warm: Carefully remove the waffles from the waffle maker and serve them immediately while warm. Top with your favorite toppings such as fresh fruits, syrup, or a dollop of yogurt.
Notes
- You can substitute rolled oats with gluten-free oats to make it gluten-free.
- Feel free to add spices like cinnamon or nutmeg to the batter for additional flavor.
- Use a non-stick spray or brush with additional melted butter if waffles tend to stick to your waffle iron.
- These waffles freeze well; reheat in a toaster or oven for best texture.
