Ingredients
8 oz semi-sweet or dark chocolate
1/2 cup heavy cream or full-fat coconut milk
Optional: 1/4 tsp pure vanilla extract
Optional: Pinch of salt
Instructions
Chop the Chocolate: Finely chop the chocolate to ensure it melts quickly and evenly.
Heat the Milk/Cream: In a saucepan, heat the cream or coconut milk until it just begins to boil.
Combine: Pour the hot milk/cream over the chopped chocolate. Stir in the vanilla and salt (if using) until smooth.
Chill: Refrigerate the mixture for at least 2 hours or until firm enough to scoop.
Shape the Truffles: Scoop and roll the mixture into balls using your hands or a mini cookie scoop.
Optional Coating: Roll truffles in cocoa powder, crushed nuts, sprinkles, coconut, powdered sugar, or melted chocolate for extra texture and flavor.
Store: Arrange the truffles on a parchment-lined plate and refrigerate or freeze until serving. Leftovers can be stored in the fridge for 1-2 months.
Notes
For variety, try adding flavorings such as raspberry puree, coffee, peppermint extract, or coconut.
Ensure you use full-fat coconut milk (the canned variety) for the creamiest texture.
Customize the coating to match the occasion or your preferences—try crushed almonds, coconut flakes, or even a dusting of cinnamon.
