Description
Crispy and flavorful air-fried baby potatoes seasoned with garlic powder, Italian seasoning, and a hint of crushed red pepper for a perfect side dish or snack that’s quick and easy to prepare.
Ingredients
Potatoes
- 1 – 1 ½ pounds baby potatoes (or any small or mini potatoes)
Seasonings
- 2-3 tablespoons vegetable oil (or olive oil)
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning (cajun seasoning works well too)
- ¼-½ teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ⅛ teaspoon pepper
Optional
- Butter or melted steak butter for tossing after cooking
Instructions
- Prep the Potatoes: Wash and dry the baby potatoes thoroughly with a paper towel. If your potatoes are medium sized, cut them in half to ensure even cooking. Measure out all the spices and oil.
- Season Potatoes: In a large mixing bowl, combine the potatoes with garlic powder, Italian seasoning, crushed red pepper flakes, salt, black pepper, and vegetable or olive oil. Toss well to coat all potatoes evenly with the seasoning mixture.
- Load Air Fryer: Transfer the seasoned potatoes to the air fryer basket in a single layer for optimal crispiness.
- Initial Fry: Cook the potatoes at 400°F for 10 minutes in the air fryer. After this time, remove the basket and toss the potatoes gently to ensure they cook evenly on all sides.
- Finish Cooking: Place the basket back in the air fryer and cook for an additional 8 to 10 minutes, checking at 8 minutes to assess doneness. Cook longer if needed until the potatoes are golden brown, crispy on the outside, and tender inside. Cooking time varies depending on potato size.
- Serve Hot: Remove the crispy baby potatoes from the air fryer and serve immediately for best texture.
- Optional Butter Toss: For extra richness, toss the hot potatoes with melted butter or steak butter, then sprinkle a bit more salt or your favorite seasonings to finish.
- Enjoy: Serve your flavorful air-fried baby potatoes as a side dish with your favorite main course or alongside a dipping sauce for a delicious appetizer.

- Cooking time may vary depending on the size and model of your air fryer and potato size.
