Description

Crispy, golden French fries made easily in the air fryer for a healthier alternative to traditional deep frying. Perfectly seasoned with garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper, these fries deliver classic flavor with less oil and mess, ready in just 30 minutes.

Ingredients

Potatoes

  • 1 lb russet potatoes (2 large or 3 medium potatoes)

Seasoning and Oil

  • 1 Tbsp olive oil
  • 1/2 tsp salt (or to taste)
  • ⅛ tsp ground black pepper (or to taste)
  • ⅛ tsp garlic powder
  • ⅛ tsp paprika

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Potatoes: Scrub and clean the potatoes thoroughly under running water to remove any dirt. Then, cut the potatoes into even ¼-inch thick strips to ensure uniform cooking.
  2. Rinse and Dry: Rinse the cut fries in cold water to remove excess starch, which helps in achieving crispiness. After rinsing, pat the fries completely dry using a clean kitchen towel or paper towels.
  3. Season the Fries: Place the dried fries in a large bowl. Drizzle with 1 tablespoon of olive oil and toss to coat evenly. Sprinkle salt, ground black pepper, garlic powder, and paprika over the fries. Toss again to distribute the seasonings uniformly.
  4. Air Fry the Fries: Transfer the seasoned fries to the air fryer basket in a single layer for even cooking. Cook at 380°F (193°C) for 10 minutes. Then, toss or shake the basket to turn the fries. Continue cooking for an additional 6 to 10 minutes until the fries turn golden brown and crispy.
  5. Serve: Remove the fries from the air fryer and optionally garnish with chopped parsley. Serve warm with your favorite dipping sauce such as ketchup, aioli, or ranch dressing.

Notes

  • Make sure to dry the fries thoroughly after rinsing to avoid soggy fries.
  • Cutting the potatoes uniformly helps achieve even cooking and crispiness.
  • You can adjust the seasoning quantities according to your taste preference.
  • Do not overcrowd the air fryer basket, cook in batches if necessary for best results.
  • Russet potatoes are preferred for their starchy texture, which crisps up well.
