Description

This festive Day Chocolate Bark recipe features layers of melted dark chocolate, white chocolate, and pink candy melts, decorated with Valentine’s Day candies and sprinkles. It’s a delightful, visually striking treat perfect for celebrating special occasions or gifting to loved ones.

Ingredients

Chocolates and Candy

  • 1½ cups dark chocolate chips
  • 12 ounces (3 4-ounce) white chocolate baking bars
  • ¾ cup pink candy melts
  • ¼ cup Valentine’s Day candy
  • 2 tablespoons Valentine’s Day sprinkles

Instructions

  1. Prepare Pan: Line a half sheet baking pan with parchment paper and set aside to prevent sticking and allow chocolate to spread evenly.
  2. Melt Dark Chocolate: Place dark chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl. Heat for 30 seconds, stir well, then continue heating in 15-20 second increments while stirring until fully melted and smooth.
  3. Spread Dark Chocolate: Pour melted dark chocolate onto the lined pan. Spread into a thin, even layer using a spreading spatula.
  4. Set Dark Chocolate: Allow the dark chocolate to sit at room temperature for about 10 minutes until it is mostly but not completely hardened.
  5. Melt White Chocolate: Break white chocolate bars into a microwave-safe bowl. Heat for 30 seconds, stir well, then heat further in short increments stirring after each until smooth and fully melted.
  6. Melt Pink Candy Melts: In a separate microwave-safe bowl, heat pink candy melts starting with 30 seconds, stirring well, then continue heating in 15-20 second increments until smooth and melted.
  7. Apply White Chocolate Layer: Pour the melted white chocolate over the partially set dark chocolate layer and spread quickly as it will harden rapidly.
  8. Drizzle Pink Candy Melts: Immediately drizzle melted pink candy melts over the white chocolate layer.
  9. Create Marble Pattern: Using a toothpick, gently swirl through the pink and white layers to create a marbled effect, avoiding disruption of the dark chocolate layer beneath.
  10. Add Toppings: While still warm, evenly sprinkle Valentine’s Day candy and sprinkles over the top.
  11. Cool Completely: Let the chocolate bark cool for 30 minutes until fully hardened and set.
  12. Serve: Break or cut into pieces and enjoy.

Notes

  • Use high-quality chocolate for the best flavor and smooth melting.
  • Be careful not to overheat chocolate in the microwave to prevent burning.
  • Work quickly when spreading the white chocolate and candy melts as they harden fast.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature to keep chocolate fresh.
  • Feel free to substitute Valentine’s Day specific candies with other themed toppings for different occasions.
