Description
A nostalgic, no-fuss blueberry cobbler with a tender, cakey topping and a juicy berry base, perfect warm with vanilla ice cream.
Ingredients
1/2 cup butter
1 cup self-rising flour
1 cup white sugar
1 cup milk
4 cups fresh blueberries
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Place the butter in an 8-inch square baking dish and let it melt in the oven, about 5 minutes.
- While the butter melts, whisk together the self-rising flour, sugar, and milk until smooth.
- Remove the dish from the oven and pour the batter over the melted butter.
- Scatter the blueberries evenly over the batter.
- Bake until golden and a toothpick inserted comes out clean, about 1 hour.
- Serve warm, topped with vanilla ice cream if desired.
Notes
- Use frozen blueberries directly from the freezer—no need to thaw.
- Add a pinch of cinnamon or vanilla to the batter for extra flavor.
- Stir a bit of orange juice into the berries for a brighter, juicier cobbler.
