Description
These Easy Oreo Truffles are a 3-ingredient treat made with Oreos, cream cheese, and chocolate. Simple yet decadent, they are perfect for any occasion, requiring no baking and minimal effort.
Ingredients
1 package Oreo cookies (14.3 oz or about 45 cookies)
1 cup (8 oz) cream cheese, softened
2 ½ cups (437 g) good-quality chocolate chips or melting wafers
Sprinkles for decoration (optional)
Instructions
- Crush the Oreos: Place the Oreos in a food processor and pulse until you have fine crumbs. Alternatively, crush the cookies in a ziplock bag and mix by hand.
- Mix with Cream Cheese: Add softened cream cheese to the Oreo crumbs and mix until smooth and combined. Cover and refrigerate for about 1 hour.
- Shape the Truffles: After chilling, scoop out small portions and roll them into balls. Place them on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
- Chill Again: Freeze the balls for 30 minutes or until firm.
- Melt the Chocolate: Melt the chocolate using a double boiler method or in the microwave until smooth and fully melted.
- Dip the Truffles: Dip each truffle into the melted chocolate, tap off excess, and place back on the baking sheet. Add sprinkles if desired.
- Set the Truffles: Allow the chocolate coating to set, then enjoy!
Notes
- For different flavors, try using white chocolate, almond bark, or flavored Oreos like Peppermint or Golden Oreos.
- Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to two weeks or freeze for up to 3 months.
