Description

These Parmesan Pizza Rolls are a deliciously crispy snack or appetizer made by deep frying frozen pizza rolls, then tossing them in garlic butter and generously coating them with grated Parmesan cheese and dried basil. Perfectly crispy on the outside, cheesy and savory on the inside, they make an irresistible party treat or comfort food.

Ingredients

Pizza Rolls

  • 18-20 Frozen pizza rolls (keep frozen)
  • Vegetable oil for frying (enough to submerge rolls in a saucepan)

Garlic Butter Topping

  • 1/4 cup butter, melted
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic

Seasoning

  • Grated Parmesan cheese (to taste, generous amount recommended)
  • Dry basil or parsley (to taste)

Instructions

  1. Heat oil: Pour enough vegetable oil into a saucepan to fully submerge the pizza rolls and heat over medium-high heat until ready for frying.
  2. Deep fry pizza rolls: Carefully add frozen pizza rolls to the hot oil and deep fry for about 3 minutes until golden and crispy.
  3. Drain excess oil: Use a slotted spoon to remove the rolls from the oil and place them onto a paper towel-lined plate to drain off excess grease.
  4. Prepare garlic butter: In a small bowl, combine melted butter and minced garlic, mixing well to infuse flavors.
  5. Coat rolls: Transfer the drained pizza rolls to a large bowl, drizzle the garlic butter over them, and stir thoroughly to coat every piece evenly.
  6. Add Parmesan and herbs: Generously sprinkle the grated Parmesan cheese over the coated pizza rolls, then add dried basil or parsley seasoning on top.
  7. Final mix: Stir everything once more with a spatula to evenly distribute the cheese and herbs across all the pizza rolls.
  8. Serve hot: Serve the Garlic Parmesan Pizza Rolls immediately while they are still hot and crispy for the best flavor and texture.

Notes

  • Use frozen pizza rolls directly from the freezer; do not thaw before frying to avoid sogginess.
  • Maintain medium-high heat to ensure pizza rolls become crispy without absorbing too much oil.
  • Adjust the amount of Parmesan cheese and dried basil to suit your taste preferences.
  • Be cautious when deep frying to avoid oil splatters; use a deep pan or saucepan with high sides.
  • Serve immediately as the rolls will lose crispiness if left to sit too long.
