Description

These Greek Chicken Meatballs with Homemade Tzatziki bring the fresh, aromatic flavors of the Mediterranean right to your table. Made with lean ground chicken and seasoned with herbs and spices, these meatballs are perfectly paired with a creamy, tangy tzatziki sauce. A versatile dish that’s perfect for dinner, appetizers, or served in pita bread!

Ingredients

For the Chicken Meatballs:

1 lb ground chicken

1 egg

½ cup breadcrumbs

2 cloves garlic (minced)

¼ cup red onion (finely chopped)

2 tbsp fresh parsley (chopped)

1 tsp dried oregano

1 tsp salt

½ tsp black pepper

1 tbsp lemon juice

1 tbsp olive oil (for cooking)

For the Tzatziki Sauce:

1 cup plain Greek yogurt

½ cucumber (grated and excess moisture squeezed out)

1 clove garlic (minced)

1 tbsp fresh dill (chopped)

1 tbsp lemon juice

1 tbsp olive oil

Salt and pepper, to taste

For Garnish:

2 tbsp fresh parsley (finely chopped)

Instructions

Prepare the Chicken Meatballs:
In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground chicken, egg, breadcrumbs, minced garlic, red onion, parsley, oregano, salt, pepper, and lemon juice. Mix until just combined.
Shape the mixture into small meatballs, about 1½ inches in diameter.

Cook the Meatballs:
Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Cook the meatballs for 8–10 minutes until golden brown and cooked through, reaching an internal temperature of 165°F.

Make the Tzatziki:
In a bowl, combine Greek yogurt, grated cucumber (with excess moisture removed), minced garlic, dill, lemon juice, olive oil, salt, and pepper. Stir until smooth. Chill in the fridge before serving.

Serve:
Serve the meatballs hot with a generous portion of tzatziki sauce. Garnish with fresh parsley.

Notes

These Greek Chicken Meatballs are great served with rice, in pita bread, or alongside fresh vegetables.

Feel free to make the tzatziki sauce ahead of time for extra flavor!

For a spicier kick, you can add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the meatball mixture.
