Description
Homemade Peach Lemonade is a refreshing summer drink made with ripe peaches, fresh lemon juice, and a touch of sugar—perfectly sweet and tart, and ideal for hot days and summer gatherings.
Ingredients
3 ripe peaches, pitted and chopped
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup water (for peach syrup)
3/4 cup fresh-squeezed lemon juice (about 4–6 lemons)
3 cups cold water (for lemonade)
Ice, for serving
Optional garnish: peach slices, lemon slices, mint
Instructions
- In a saucepan, combine chopped peaches, 1/2 cup sugar, and 1/2 cup water. Bring to a simmer and cook for 5–10 minutes until peaches are soft.
- Let the mixture cool, then strain through a fine mesh sieve into a pitcher to create the peach syrup (optional: keep pulp for texture).
- Juice lemons to yield about 3/4 cup lemon juice and add it to the peach syrup in the pitcher.
- Stir in 3 cups cold water. Taste and adjust with more water or sugar if desired.
- Chill the lemonade for 30 minutes to 2 hours, or serve immediately over ice with optional garnishes.
Notes
- Use ripe, fragrant peaches for the best flavor.
- Adjust lemon juice and syrup to your desired sweetness and tartness.
- Add herbs like mint or basil for a refreshing twist.
- Use sparkling water for a fizzy variation.
- Freeze into popsicles or blend with ice for a slushy treat.
