Description

This Melt In Your Mouth Chicken Breast recipe is a delightful and easy way to make juicy, flavorful chicken that practically melts in your mouth. Coated in a creamy sour cream mixture and topped with a crispy Parmesan crust, this dish is a true crowd-pleaser.

Ingredients

1 cup of sour cream

2 teaspoons of garlic powder

1 teaspoon of your favorite seasoned salt

1/2 teaspoon of freshly ground black pepper

1 1/2 cups of freshly grated Parmesan cheese, divided into portions

3 pounds of boneless chicken breasts, with any extra fat trimmed away

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F.
  2. Lightly spray a 9×13 baking dish with nonstick cooking spray and set it aside.
  3. In a medium bowl, combine the sour cream, garlic powder, seasoned salt, pepper, and 1 cup of Parmesan cheese.
  4. Arrange the chicken breasts evenly in the prepared baking dish.
  5. Spread the sour cream mixture over the chicken, ensuring it’s fully covered.
  6. Top the chicken with the remaining Parmesan cheese.
  7. Roast the chicken for 25-30 minutes, checking for doneness. The chicken should be cooked through and reach an internal temperature of 165°F.
  8. Switch the oven to broil and place the pan under the broiler for 2-3 minutes, or until the top is lightly browned and crispy.
  9. Remove the chicken from the oven and serve immediately.

Notes

  • For best results, use freshly grated Parmesan cheese for a crispier crust.
  • If you don’t have a broiler, you can skip that step, but the chicken will not have the crispy top.
  • This recipe can be prepared ahead of time and refrigerated for up to 24 hours before baking.
  • To make it spicier, add red pepper flakes or cayenne pepper to the sour cream mixture.
