Ingredients
1 cup of sour cream
2 teaspoons of garlic powder
1 teaspoon of your favorite seasoned salt
1/2 teaspoon of freshly ground black pepper
1 1/2 cups of freshly grated Parmesan cheese, divided into portions
3 pounds of boneless chicken breasts, with any extra fat trimmed away
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F.
- Lightly spray a 9×13 baking dish with nonstick cooking spray and set it aside.
- In a medium bowl, combine the sour cream, garlic powder, seasoned salt, pepper, and 1 cup of Parmesan cheese.
- Arrange the chicken breasts evenly in the prepared baking dish.
- Spread the sour cream mixture over the chicken, ensuring it’s fully covered.
- Top the chicken with the remaining Parmesan cheese.
- Roast the chicken for 25-30 minutes, checking for doneness. The chicken should be cooked through and reach an internal temperature of 165°F.
- Switch the oven to broil and place the pan under the broiler for 2-3 minutes, or until the top is lightly browned and crispy.
- Remove the chicken from the oven and serve immediately.
Notes
- For best results, use freshly grated Parmesan cheese for a crispier crust.
- If you don’t have a broiler, you can skip that step, but the chicken will not have the crispy top.
- This recipe can be prepared ahead of time and refrigerated for up to 24 hours before baking.
- To make it spicier, add red pepper flakes or cayenne pepper to the sour cream mixture.
