Description

Mini Caprese skewers with balsamic glaze are a fresh and elegant appetizer featuring creamy mozzarella, juicy cherry tomatoes, and fragrant basil, finished with a tangy-sweet balsamic glaze.


Ingredients

12 fresh mozzarella balls (small, bite-sized)

12 cherry tomatoes (ripe and vibrant)

12 fresh basil leaves

1 tbsp extra virgin olive oil

1/2 cup high-quality balsamic vinegar

Sea salt to taste

Freshly ground black pepper to taste


Instructions

  1. Wash and thoroughly dry the cherry tomatoes and basil leaves. Drain mozzarella balls.
  2. Prepare 12 wooden or metal skewers.
  3. Thread onto each skewer one basil leaf, one mozzarella ball, and one cherry tomato. Repeat the pattern if the skewer length allows.
  4. Gently press the ingredients together to ensure they stay in place.
  5. Drizzle with olive oil and season with sea salt and black pepper.
  6. To make the balsamic glaze, simmer the balsamic vinegar in a small saucepan over medium heat for 10–15 minutes, until thickened.
  7. Let the glaze cool slightly, then drizzle over the skewers.
  8. Serve immediately, or refrigerate for up to 2 hours before serving. Add the glaze just before serving.
