Description

A refreshing and indulgent Salted Caramel Matcha Latte recipe that combines the vibrant flavors of matcha green tea with creamy coconut milk and rich homemade salted caramel sauce. Perfect for a delightful 15-minute treat, this recipe serves two and can be easily customized with your preferred sweetener.

Ingredients

Matcha Layer

  • 1 tbsp matcha powder
  • 1 tsp ground vanilla bean
  • 2 tbsp coconut sugar (or sweetener of choice)
  • 1 1/2 cups coconut milk
  • 1/2 cup ice

Salted Caramel Latte

  • 4 tbsp salted caramel sauce, homemade or store-bought
  • 1 cup coconut milk (divided)
  • 2-3 cups ice

Instructions

  1. Prepare the salted caramel sauce: Make the salted caramel sauce ahead of time or use a store-bought version. This sauce provides the rich, sweet, and salty flavor foundation for the latte.
  2. Blend the matcha layer: Place matcha powder, ground vanilla bean, coconut sugar, 1 1/2 cups coconut milk, and 1/2 cup ice into a blender. Blend until smooth and creamy, then set aside.
  3. Assemble the glasses: Add 2 tablespoons of salted caramel sauce to each glass, then fill each glass with enough ice to your liking.
  4. Add the coconut milk: Pour 1/2 cup of coconut milk into each glass over the ice and salted caramel.
  5. Top with the matcha layer: Evenly divide the blended matcha mixture between the two glasses, pouring it gently on top to create a layered latte effect.

Notes

  • You can substitute coconut sugar with your preferred sweetener such as maple syrup, honey, or agave syrup.
  • For a vegan version, ensure the salted caramel sauce does not contain dairy, or use a vegan caramel recipe.
  • Adjust the amount of ice based on your preference for a stronger or more diluted drink.
  • To make this drink more indulgent, add a splash of vanilla extract or a pinch of cinnamon to the matcha blend.
  • Use chilled coconut milk and ice for a perfectly cold and refreshing beverage.
