Description
Sheet pan pizza is a quick, easy, and customizable meal with a soft, chewy dough and a crispy, golden crust. It’s perfect for feeding a crowd, and cleanup is a breeze since it’s made all on one pan.
Ingredients
2 ¼ cups all-purpose flour (plus more for kneading)
1 tablespoon sugar
1 tablespoon instant yeast
1 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 cup warm water (around 110-115°F)
1 – 1.2 pounds pizza dough (store-bought or homemade)
1 tablespoon olive oil
⅔ cup pizza sauce
2 cups mozzarella cheese
4 oz pepperoni
Parmesan cheese for topping (optional)
Instructions
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, yeast, and salt.
- Pour in the olive oil and warm water. Mix everything together until a shaggy ball forms.
- Stand Mixer: Use a dough hook to mix until smooth and a ball forms (about 3 minutes). Cover with a towel and let rise for 15 minutes.
- Mix by Hand: Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead for 5 minutes, adding more flour if needed. Cover with a towel or bowl and let rise for 15 minutes.
- Preheat the oven to 450°F.
- Coat a quarter sheet pan (13” x 9”) with 1 tablespoon of olive oil, making sure to cover all the edges and corners.
- Place the dough onto the pan and gently stretch it out. If the dough keeps shrinking back, let it rest for 5 minutes, then try stretching it again.
- Spread the pizza sauce evenly over the dough, then sprinkle with mozzarella cheese and top with pepperoni slices.
- Bake for 11-13 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the crust is golden brown.
- Let the pizza cool for 5 minutes, then top with Parmesan cheese (if using), slice, and enjoy!
Notes
- For variations, add vegetables, more meats like sausage, or experiment with different cheeses.
- If you need a gluten-free option, substitute the flour with a gluten-free flour blend.
- Leftover pizza can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.
- Reheat slices in a preheated oven at 375°F for 5-7 minutes for best results.
