- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon teriyaki sauce
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon mirin (or rice vinegar or white vinegar)
Noodles and Stir-Fry Ingredients
- 7 ounce dry noodles (200 g, linguine pasta can be used as a substitute)
- 3 tablespoons butter (salted or unsalted)
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil (or vegetable oil)
- ¼ cup chopped onions
- 2 teaspoons minced ginger
- 2 teaspoons minced garlic
- ½ teaspoon salt (or to taste)
- ¼ teaspoon ground pepper
- 2 teaspoons white sesame seeds
Instructions
- Cook The Noodles: Boil the dry noodles in salted water according to package instructions until al dente. Avoid overcooking to prevent sogginess. Optionally, drain, toss with 2 teaspoons oil to prevent sticking, and refrigerate in an airtight container for up to 4 days.
- Make The Sauce: In a bowl, mix together soy sauce, teriyaki sauce, brown sugar, and mirin. Set this sauce blend aside.
- Prepare The Stir-Fry Base: Heat butter and sesame oil in a skillet or wok over high heat until hot.
- Sauté Aromatics: Add chopped onions, minced ginger, and minced garlic to the hot skillet. Cook, stirring frequently, for 2-3 minutes until the onions are lightly browned and fragrant.
- Add Sauce and Noodles: Pour the prepared sauce mixture into the skillet followed by the cooked noodles. Toss well to evenly coat the noodles in the sauce.
- Season: Sprinkle salt and ground pepper to taste, tossing again to distribute seasoning evenly. Check seasoning and adjust salt if necessary.
- Finish and Serve: Garnish the noodles with white sesame seeds. Serve immediately for the best texture and flavor.
