Description

Honey BBQ Chicken Rice is a mouthwatering dish that combines tender chicken thighs, sticky honey BBQ sauce, and fluffy rice, creating the perfect balance of sweet, savory, and smoky flavors. This one-pan wonder is easy to make, quick to prepare, and guaranteed to become a family favorite. It’s the ideal weeknight dinner for anyone craving comfort food with a delicious twist

Ingredients

4 Boneless, skinless chicken thighs

1 cup Rice (long-grain white or brown rice)

1/4 cup Honey

1/2 cup BBQ sauce (your favorite kind)

2 tbsp Soy sauce

3 cloves Garlic (minced)

Instructions

  1. Preheat Your Oven: Set your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Prepare the Sauce: In a large mixing bowl, whisk together honey, BBQ sauce, soy sauce, and minced garlic until smooth.
  3. Grease the Baking Dish: Lightly grease a baking dish with oil or cooking spray.
  4. Assemble the Dish: Toss the chicken thighs in half of the honey BBQ sauce and place them in the prepared baking dish. Pour the remaining sauce over the top.
  5. Bake the Chicken: Place the dish in the oven and bake for 35-40 minutes, basting with sauce halfway through. The chicken is done when it’s cooked through and the sauce is sticky and caramelized.
  6. Rest the Chicken: Remove the chicken from the oven and let it rest for 5 minutes.
  7. Serve: Spoon rice onto plates, top with chicken thighs, and drizzle with remaining sauce.

Notes

  • For a spicier version, add cayenne pepper, chili flakes, or hot sauce to the glaze.
  • Brown rice can be used for a nuttier flavor, but it requires a longer cooking time.
  • Use tamari or coconut aminos for a gluten-free alternative to soy sauce.
