Description
Garlic Butter Steak Bites are quick, tender, and flavorful morsels of sirloin steak seared to a golden brown and tossed in a rich, aromatic garlic butter sauce with a hint of red pepper flakes. Perfect for a fast yet elegant appetizer or main dish, this recipe combines simple ingredients with high heat cooking for a deliciously savory treat.
Ingredients
Steak Bites
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1½ pounds sirloin steak (cut into bite size pieces; alternatively strip loin, tenderloin, strip steak, or rib eye)
- ½ teaspoon salt (or to taste)
- ½ teaspoon pepper (or to taste)
Garlic Butter Sauce
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 4 cloves garlic (minced)
- ¼ teaspoon red pepper flakes
- 1 tablespoon fresh parsley (chopped)
Instructions
- Heat the Olive Oil and Sear the Steak: Add the olive oil to a large skillet and heat it over high heat until hot. Add the bite-sized steak pieces to the skillet and season generously with salt and pepper.
- Cook the Steak Bites: Let the steak pieces cook for at least 2 minutes without stirring to achieve a good sear. Then stir and continue cooking for another 2 minutes until the steak bites are golden brown and cooked through. If your skillet is small, cook the steak in batches to avoid overcrowding.
- Prepare the Garlic Butter Sauce: Remove the cooked steak bites and set them aside on a plate. In the same skillet, reduce the heat to medium and add the butter. Once the butter has melted, add the minced garlic and red pepper flakes. Cook while stirring for about 30 seconds until the garlic becomes aromatic and starts to brown gently.
- Toss Steak in Garlic Butter and Garnish: Pour the garlic butter sauce over the steak bites in the skillet or a mixing bowl. Toss well to coat evenly. Garnish with freshly chopped parsley and serve immediately.
Notes
- Use a hot skillet to ensure a good sear and caramelization on the steak.
- Cut steak into uniform bite-sized pieces for even cooking.
- If you prefer milder flavor, reduce or omit red pepper flakes.
- Cook steak in batches if your skillet can’t hold all pieces at once to avoid steaming instead of searing.
- Serve immediately for best texture and flavor.
