Description

This refreshing Melon Spritzer Drink blends the sweetness of watermelon and cucumber with zesty lime and sparkling lime LaCroix for a light, bubbly beverage perfect for hot days or casual gatherings. Sweetened with homemade simple syrup, this spritzer offers a delightful balance of fruity flavors and fizzy texture, served chilled with ice for ultimate refreshment.

Ingredients

Simple Syrup

  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup water

Fruit and Beverage

  • 1/4 watermelon, balled or cut into small pieces (about 2 cups)
  • 2 seedless cucumbers, balled or 1 cucumber cut into small pieces (about 1 to 1 1/2 cups)
  • 1 lime, cut into small pieces
  • 2 cans lime LaCroix sparkling water (12 oz each)
  • Ice (enough to fill the pitcher halfway)

Instructions

  1. Make Simple Syrup: In a small saucepan over medium-high heat, combine 1/2 cup sugar and 1/2 cup water. Cook for about 4 minutes, stirring occasionally until the sugar dissolves completely. Remove from heat and let it cool.
  2. Prepare Fruit: Ball or cut the watermelon and cucumber into small pieces and place them into a pitcher. Cut the lime into wedges, squeeze the juice directly into the pitcher, then add the squeezed lime pieces as well.
  3. Assemble the Spritzer: Fill the pitcher halfway with ice cubes. Pour in the cooled simple syrup and add 2 cans of lime LaCroix. Stir well to combine all ingredients.
  4. Chill and Serve: Refrigerate the mixture for at least 2 hours or up to overnight to let the flavors meld. When ready to serve, pour the spritzer mixture halfway into a glass and top off with additional LaCroix sparkling water for extra fizz.

Notes

  • You can adjust the amount of simple syrup to taste if you prefer less sweetness.
  • This spritzer can be stored in the refrigerator, covered with plastic wrap, for up to one week.
  • For a garnish, add a slice of lime or a small melon ball on the rim of the glass.
  • Using seedless cucumbers helps avoid any bitterness in the drink.
  • LaCroix sparkling water is naturally flavored and calorie-free, but you may substitute with any other lime-flavored sparkling water.
