Sauté

  • 3 tablespoons sesame oil, divided
  • 8 ounces shiitake mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 clove garlic, grated

  • One 12-ounce bag frozen mini chicken cilantro wontons
  • 1-2 cups chicken broth (adjust based on desired soupiness)
  • 1/2 cup teriyaki sauce
  • 1-2 tablespoons chili crisp

Garnish

  • Green onions, sliced
  • Sesame seeds


Instructions

  1. Sauté Mushrooms and Garlic: Heat 1 tablespoon of sesame oil in a large nonstick skillet over medium heat. Add sliced shiitake mushrooms and sauté until they become soft and flavorful. In the last one to two minutes, add the grated garlic to release its aroma without burning.
  2. Simmer Wontons: Add the frozen mini chicken cilantro wontons to the skillet along with 1 to 2 cups of chicken broth and 1/2 cup of teriyaki sauce. Cover with a lid and let the wontons simmer for about 5 minutes, or until they are heated through and tender.
  3. Finish and Garnish: Remove the lid, stir in the remaining 2 tablespoons of sesame oil and 1 to 2 tablespoons of chili crisp to add a spicy, rich flavor. Serve immediately, topped with sliced green onions and toasted sesame seeds for an added crunch and freshness.
